Chris Decaen's art

Hello! I'm an amateur artist and have been painting since I was a kid. Most of my art is hanging on my walls, collecting dust in my attic, or on the walls of friends and family, and a handful have been sold to friends or strangers. It has always seemed like a bummer that more people couldn't see my work, but I'm too lazy to actively promote it by trying to put it in shows--and I'm not welcoming enough to let strangers into my house to show it off. (Plus my wife wouldn't let me do that.) Plus, since I've given a lot of it away over the years, for my own benefit I would like to have at least a photo of those ones (to look at once in a while with nostalgia and sometimes even regret that that one got away). 

So:  This website is just an archive or record of things I've done. It's about 40 years of art, from teen years to the present, with subject matter ranging from realistic portraits to spaceships and aliens to Christ Himself, using media ranging from oils to chalk pastel to watercolor to charcoal to a few others. So pick your poison! I even saved the earliest/worst stuff for the "Early art" subpage, if you'd like to chuckle at it. (If you're feeling particularly naughty, you can use my contact email to tell me how bad you think that stuff is too!)
